How Then Can We Face the Lord Jesus Without Loved Ones We Should Win to Him?
A Poem in Dr. John R. Rices book on Genesis: Judah did not want to return to Jacob his father without Benjamin whom he promised to protect. The shame and heartbreak would be too much. So it shall be when we get to heaven if we failed to try to win our family for Jesus sake!
Have You Won You Loved Ones for Jesus!
How can I meet Him without my loved ones,
How can I smile and know they are lost,
When I see Jesus up in the glory
Without the souls He bought at such cost?
Time now for warning, time now for pleading,
Time now to weep, to cling to the cross!
Too late in Heaven, to win our loved ones;
Too late to pray, to weep o'er the lost.
Solemn accounting, facing our Savior.
Rewards receiving, suffering loss!
Judgment seat, facing Jesus in Heaven;
Wood, hay and stubble, burning as dross.
How poor investment, in land or bus'ness;
What cheap returns we'll have for our pains!
But how the wise will shine in their glory,
When souls appear, what eternal gain!
How glad the greeting, praises and singing
When we meet Jesus with all our own!
Then will our labor seem but a trifle
And all our tears, and toiling be done!
Oh, bring your loved ones. Bring them to Jesus!
Bring ev'ry brother and sister to Him!
When come the reapers, home with the harvest.
May all our dear ones be safe gathered in!
